Finding someone who works with young adults in your area

There is likely a counselor, coach, or therapist in your area that has a good deal of experience working with young adults.  It may require some leg work to find them.  Ask friends, family, and community members for referrals.  If you don't get a direct referral, try reaching out to local mental health care providers.  Odds are they know the person or they know how to find the person you're looking for.

Once you find someone, here are some questions you could ask:

-Can you speak about your orientation to working with young adults/transitional age youth?

-How long have you been working with young adults?

-What percentage of your practice is this age group?

-Are you experienced and comfortable working with a coaching approach?

-Are you experienced supporting "X" issue?
